Born in Madrid in 1978, Laura spent most of her childhood and adolescent years in Belgium. Laura got her first interaction with fine arts from a very young age in Brussels and has continued to expand her vision through her work and personal travels around the world.

Laura studied Fine Arts in the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels and the Complutense University of Madrid. She has been specialising in painting ever since. She has also expanded her style to include other media such as installations and fanzines. She has a passion for human sciences such as anthropology and psychology, which have greatly influenced her work.

The main focus of her work has been the human body and personal identity. Concepts that are constantly evolving through ongoing questioning. She uses the human body as a receptor and host of personal values, beliefs and roles in life –  it is the space where the intimate and the common converge; it is engraved with life’s encounters and performances and leaves its mark through movement, dance and sensory experiences.

Laura has been bridging life stories, femininity and social paradigms to discover the concepts of «being» and identity in her work. She is expressing such concepts through a process of deconstruction and amalgamation of different media and forms, resulting in diverse aesthetic outcomes.

Laura has participated in Spain and internationally in various artist collectives and research groups. She is currently based in Madrid.
